Toolbox of Programs

  • International Exchanges and Residencies — Peacedale Global Arts is currently conducting artist residencies in Portugal, Transylvania, and the United States. Residencies may include any of the activities below.

  • Generative Writing Workshop — A five-day writing workshop in which up to six writers create and share new work. Writers control how they receive responses and feedback, two actors assist in reading the work aloud, and two facilitators support creative conversation.

  • Translation Work — Workshops centered on creating stage-worthy translations of work across languages to expand the international dramatic repertoire. Playwrights are paired with translators, and the resulting work may be presented in a public reading or published.

  • Script Development Workshops — Supports writers as they work on specific developmental goals with a creative team. The process and timeline for each workshop is flexible to meet the needs of the artists involved. A public play reading may follow the workshop to invite an audience into the creative process.

  • Storytelling Workshops — Engages entry-level writers in writing exercises which culminate in a private sharing of the work. This artist-led program targets communities who might not have traditional pathways into theatrical writing and can be tailored to the needs of each group.

  • Community Building — Activities include conversations with theater, community, and cultural leaders; artist convenings to assess needs around the creative process; and public panel discussions to explore issues of theater-making within a global context.
